La Fantasia su motivi de Un ballo in maschera nasce probabilmente a seguito della prima rappresentazione dell’opera presso il teatro regio di parma nel 1860. Il periodo di docenza del maestro G. Rossi, come abbiamo scritto, coincide con l’incarico di maestro concertatore del Teatro Regio e molti brani approntati per le esercitazioni accademiche della regia scuola fanno da eco agli spettacoli preparati, concertati e condotti in teatro.
