Nato a Palermo il 13 febbraio 1813, Emanuele Krakamp va annoverato, senza ombra di dubbio, tra i maggiori flautisti dell’Ottocento italiano.
La sua produzione può essere divisa in opere originali e parafrasi d’opera.
Tra le prime spicca questa Romance Varièe pubblicata a Napoli da Vincenzo Cataneo e che riporta nel frontespizio il seguente titolo: “ROMANCE VARIÉE | POUR FLÛTE | avec accompagnement de Piano | composée et dediée | A | I. DELAFIELD, Esq.er | PAR | E. KRAKAMP | Professore du Collège Royal | de Musique à Naples | Oeuvre 48. | Propriété de l’Auteur”. Da notare che non è indicato l’editore ed è anzi specificato che lo spartito era stato pubblicato a spese dell’autore.
