La vita di Antonio Piacentino Romano è completamente avvolta nel mistero a partire dallo stesso nome… Il concerto è molto bello con passaggi abbastanza virtuosistici sia nel primo movimento Allegretto in tempo ordinario che nel terzo Allegro in 3/8. Il movimento lento, un Andante in mi minore in tempo ordinario, è molto espressivo e riccamente ornamentato e prevede alla fine la ripresa del Tutti iniziale. Così come il Concerto GroF 791 fu scritto attorno al 1750 ed è quindi contemporaneo ai lavori analoghi di Tartini e Mancinelli. Anche il livello musicale è paragonabile e la presente edizione offre ai flautisti l’opportunità di estendere il proprio repertorio solistico con un lavoro di sicura presa sul pubblico.

The life of Antonio Piacentino Romano is completely shrouded in mystery, starting from his name… The concerto is very beautiful with quite virtuosic passages both in the first movement Allegretto in ordinary time and in the third Allegro in 3/8. The slow movement, an Andante in E minor in ordinary time, is very expressive and richly ornamented and includes the reprise of the initial Tutti at the end. Just as the Concerto GroF 791 was written around 1750 and is therefore contemporary with similar works by Tartini and Mancinelli. The musical level is also comparable and this edition offers flautists the opportunity to extend their solo repertoire with a work that is sure to appeal to the audience.
