Michele Enrico Francesco Carafa de Colobrano (Napoli, 17.XI.1787 - Parigi, 27.VII.1872) è stato un importante compositore italiano dell’800. Destinato per tradizione della nobile famiglia alla carriera militare, ugualmente riuscì a seguire le proprie inclinazioni per la musica studiando con Francesco Ruggi, allievo di Fedele Fenaroli, presso il Conservatorio napoletano di S. Maria di Loreto
